Terrific read set in 1960s Jackson, Mississippi during the Civil Rights Movement. Three women - two black, one white - put together a daring book about how black maids feel about their white employers.
I found this book hard to put down. The characters voices felt authentic to me though sometimes exaggerated phonetically, but then again, I've never lived in 1960s Mississippi.
